The youth (6th -12th grade) are encouraged to attend one of the Growth Essential classes offered during our 9am Education Hour and to participate in the Men’s and Women’s studies. They join the whole congregation for corporate worship during our 10:30am Family Worship Service. The youth group gathers on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 4pm. Check the church calendar for specific dates. Contact Jason Crothers for more information.
In current times, the youth are hard pressed to conform to the deceptive, evil social and cultural ills. Our mission is to supplement the parents’ work of equipping the youth in Christ through the teaching of the Word, Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship and Prayer so that they may conduct their lives in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ, and that they may fully understand God’s will for their lives. The Jr High and High School students will learn about God’s will in accordance to the following Mission Statement.
1 Peter 4:1-2
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
We believe that God’s will is inclusive of Salvation, Sanctification and Service for every believer who is committed to living a life worthy of the Gospel. Our goal is to commit to the systematic teaching of God’s word and discipleship for Jr High and High School students. Through the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit, the Bible studies will reveal the will of God through the following principles:
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”
The most precious gift we can receive is Salvation from the completed work of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Gospel. The Youth will have many opportunities to hear and believe the Gospel, and to become agents of Christ in reaching siblings, parents, relatives, neighbors, classmates, and friends.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
“But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
This passages makes it clear that salvation comes through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and belief in the truth. Through the consistent and systematic teaching of God’s Word and the Gospel, the Holy Spirit renews sinful minds and moves them from elementary principles of the faith to an understanding of the perfect will of God. It is our commitment, therefore, to teach God’s Word in submission to the Holy Spirit.
