WHAT: The goal of this Ecclesiology Seminar is simple: we want to foster love FOR the church by cultivating convictions ABOUT the church. We believe the Christian life is a church-shaped life. It’s through the local church that God’s glory is displayed, Christ’s authority is manifest, the gospel advances, and God’s people grow in grace. We love and serve our King by loving and serving His people.

Scripture is sufficient for the church’s life together. The commands and patterns of the New Testament give us clear guidance on how we ought to order the church and our lives within it. King Jesus has told us how His household ought to be ordered (1 Tim. 3:15). Our job is to listen to Him, trust Him, and get to work—so that our church might reflect to a watching world the manifold wisdom of God and the majesty of Christ  (Eph. 3:10–11).

To that end, we want our members to understand the "why" behind what we do at RGC. Nothing about the way we “do church” here is accidental—it’s all very much on purpose. From our single Lord’s Day gathering, to the shape of our services, to the relationship between elders and congregation—and so much more—our church is structured according to principles derived from God’s Word.

WHO: RGC members and those who intend to join the church in the near future.

HOW: This Seminar will include 1-4 hours of homework each week, including reading, written reflections, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and attending services.

WHEN: Ecclesiology Seminar will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 5:00 PM throughout the Fall semester.
