If you’re not a Christian today, your only hope is not to somehow live good enough to qualify yourself for this inheritance. You could never do that! But instead your only hope is to turn from your sin and entrust yourself to Jesus, who as Colossians 1:12 says, is the one who "qualifies us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light." 

Praise be to God, In Christ Jesus through the Spirit, God has given us himself, our promised inheritance.
